Thomas Bold and his wife appear to have been married twice - once at Our Lady’s RC Church in Lydiate
on 16 Jan 1807 and then on the following day he married Ann at St. Peter’s in Liverpool. (The IGI gives
Thomas’ name as “Bode” but this is probably a mistranslation.)

Judging by the names of his children's godparents, I suspect that he had siblings named Margaret, Charles,
William and possibly James, but as at present I cannot find any trace of Thomas being christened, I have no
names for his parents and therefore must stress that the names of siblings are only speculation at present
and I have no proof of their connection to Thomas yet.

There is an Mary Bold who appears in the 1861 census living on Southport Road who was b. 1859 in Lydiate.
She is described as a granddaughter to head of the house, James Bold b. c 1802 Lydiate and his wife Mary
b. 1803 Lydiate. James and Mary’s children are Ann b. 1829 Melling, Thomas b. 1832 Melling, John b. 1834
Melling and Robert b. 1849 Lydiate. Therefore the Ann Bold who bore an illegitimate daughter named Mary
in 1859 is probably not the daughter of Thomas Bold and Ann Holland as I originally thought. The
godparents of Mary Bold b. 19 Jul 1859 chr. 24 Jul 1859 were Charles Bold and Ann Alty.]
