You're an organizational genius2

The aim of this site is - I hope - to provide an online resource about my collective family history. Thanks to the foresight of other relatives, I have a lot of family photos - some obviously quite old - and want to share my resources and stories with others, especially for those families that are hard to trace.

The lottery that is finding your ancestors has proved to me that there will always be ten online resources for those huge families where you find new distant relatives popping up everywhere, but then quite often there is little or no information about the lines that you really want to trace so this is my solution.

Contributions and information are welcome from absolutely anybody - whether you're related to the people I've mentioned or you happened to know them.

Hello Kate.

I have managed to deduce that I am a direct decendent of Henry Gaskell and Ann Hurst (with the help of your excellent site). And would be interested in any further info you may have.

I had managed to trace back to Joseph Gaskell and Ann Brannan so the link to Ormskirk is a new one on me. The family moved around a very small part of Bolton for about 150 years since Henry moved across and I moved to London

I have applied for a copy of the wedding certificate which I will be happy to forward a copy once I have recieved it.

Once again thanks for taking the time out to put this site together its been very helpful.

Thanks.

Hi Kate
I am researching Harvey Smith born in Claines to James and Mary in 1839. You have him down as Henry, but if you look closely at the 1841 you can see that it is not henry. In the IGI it is Hervey and on the civil registration it is Harvey. In the 1851 he is stopping with his brother James b1831 he is a butcher born in Worcester but living in Kidderminster, but I have not found any mention of James jnr in your family history, is there a link? The farm that Edward Willday is living at in 1871 is Ronkswood Farm on the Newtown Road, this farm is taken over by Harvey Smith around 1871/2.
